  The division shoots the first Sunday of every month at the outdoor range.  Rain or Shine.  Everyone is welcome!

  All muzzleloading, blackpowder (or substitute blackpowder) arms are welcome at our shoots, including inline, revolver & single shot pistols & traditional flint or percussion rifles.

  Our aggregate match is specifically for traditional patched round ball rifles with open iron sights only.

  Michigan City Rifle Club’s Monthly Long Range Rimfire Rifle match is held the 4th Saturday of each month, April through November, weather permitting. Setup begins at 9 am. Sign-up ends at 9:30 am. Shooter meeting at 9:30 am. First shots downrange at 10:00 am and the match is usually done by 1:00 pm.

  The main course of fire will be shot on the 200 yard range and will consist of 4 separate strings. We will also have a 5th string shot at a KYL target rack located on the 100 yard range. There will be time allotted to verify scope dope prior to the 1st string. Scoring is 1 point per hit on steel.

  • String 1 is 10 shots within 2 minutes at a 1” target located at 50 yards
  • String 2 is 10 shots within 2 minutes at a 2” target located at 100 yards
  • String 3 is 10 shots within 2 minutes at a 3” target located at 150 yards
  • String 4 is 10 shots within 2 minutes at a 4” x 6” target located at 200 yards
  • String 5, shot on the 100 yard range, a maximum of 8 shots within 2 minutes at the KYL target located from between 50 and 100 yards. If you miss a target on the KYL rack, you lose all your KYL points. Stop shooting when you Know Your Limit.

  Cowboy Action Shooting -  CAS is a type of multi-gun match utilizing a combination of handgun(s), rifle, and shotgun in a variety of Old West Style themed courses of fire for time and accuracy. CAS utilizes live ammo of reduced power loads.  Participants must dress in appropriate theme or era "costume" as well as use gear and accessories as mandated by group rules. Contact division leader for more information on firearms, ammo, and costume requirements. Spectators welcome but must provide their own eye and ear protection.

  Thanks for your interest in our Wednesday night defensive pistol match.

  Equipment is simple:

  -Centerfire pistol or revolver in good working order, 9mm/.38 special or larger. No porting or “race guns” are allowed, slide mounted dot sights and mounted weapon lights are acceptable. 

  -Three magazines or speed loaders. Four is better. Standard capacity magazines may be used, but are downloaded to 10 rounds. 

  -50 rounds of ammunition, but bring 100. Reloads are fine. No armor piercing, incendiary, tracer, or multi-projectile loads are allowed. 

  -STRONG SIDE belt holster (OWB or IWB) that does not collapse when the gun is removed. We do not allow any type of cross draw, ankle, small of the back, or shoulder holsters. 

  -Carriers for your magazines or speed loaders are helpful, but not required. 

  -Appropriate eye and ear protection. 

  If you have not shot organized IDPA/USPSA or similar competition before (or in the past two years) we require you observe a minimum of one evening before we allow you to shoot. 

  Start time is 6pm CST, please arrive at least 20 minutes early to have a short safety brief. No pre-registration is required. The match ends when all shooters have completed the courses of fire, usually around 8:30, but occasionally later. All needed targets are provided. 

  Note the Sig P320 is banned from this match.
